Sketch Studio is a drawing program designed to teach children how to draw on the computer. It has a simple interface, a limited number of brush options and is easy to learn. But just because the brush is limited does not mean you can’t create incredible drawings. The drawings you create can be saved as drawing files (.sketch) or as bitmap files (.bmp, .jpg). Display your drawing as your screen saver. It has a simple interface, a limited number of brush options and is easy to learn. But just because the brush is limited does not mean you can’t create incredible drawings.
You can use the free Sketch and Smudge Screen Saver to play the drawings created with Sketch Studio. You’ll watch as Sketch and Smudge recreate your drawing. Most people have a natural instinct to draw.
They pick up a pencil or crayon as a child and just start drawing without thinking about it. Some children continue to draw as they mature while others stop for one reason or another. Sketch Studio is unique in that it contains built-in drawing lessons. The lessons feature two animated characters Sketch and Smudge. The characters work together, sketching and smudging, to draw pictures in steps. At the end of each step the two characters wait, allowing the user to copy what was drawn, before proceeding to the next step. The lessons range from beginner to advanced. The simplest lesson consists of coloring in the outline of a tree frog. This lesson, although simple, demonstrates how to use the powerful smudging technique that is necessary in the more advanced drawings. The goal is to slowly build up the drawing ability and confidence of the user.
