Last week ended with rukia attacked by a mysterious character that goes by the name o Ashida. In this episode 148, the reason why rukia was attacked by Ashida is because he need to learn how strong is Rukia in order to survived in the Menos forest. Later Rukia was told that Ashida once a shinigami who fought a group of hollow with other shinigami and follow them into Hueco Mundo few hundred years ago. As the fight continue, Ashida watch one by one of his shinigami friend killed in battle, until finally he was left alone.


Later Ashida join Rukia to find ichigo and others, their journey was stopped by an Adjuchas(the upper level of Menos Grande). Adjuchas has the ability to control and manipulate any gillian(lower level Menos Grande) and lead a group of gillian and launch attacked on Rukia and Ashida.

Out numbered, the more they kill a lot more will come, but Ashida stayed in Hueco Mundo for few hundred years and he knew that to defeat them a shinigami must kill the Adjuchas that’s controlling the gillian.
