They develop the codecs, which are needed to watch online videos and integrate some spyware and adware in these codecs, which eventually transfer the confidential information of the user to the writer.virus writers are making bundles of such codecs, packing them into a single pack to lure the users to download them as only one package will be able to play all the clips, and the users will not have to download new codecs for every video. Some of the codecs are useful but majorities of them are just acting as a spyware.

It was reported that a trojan horse infects the viewers of a specific YouTube video after they follow a link that is displayed at the end of the clip. Watching the You Tube video is safe. The danger comes at the end when the video displays a site where you can download the game mod itself. Should you download the file and install, your computer will be compromised upon reboot. This however happened when the most recent video to carry the virus is called “Hood Life” and has surprised some with its ability to infect any computers at all, given the extremely poor quality of the video itself, leaving people to wonder why it’s being downloaded in the first place.

The creators of the virus are using the video as bait to direct you to another website, where the virus can be downloaded. The virus will effectively freeze your computer, forcing you to reboot, whereupon the virus will take affect. This isn’t the first time malware has been found on YouTube videos.
